BANNER
Banner comes from the same breeder that we got our amazing Wilder from - all the way from Connecticut. While Wilder is irreplaceable in our hearts, Banner was provided to us by the breeder due to Wilder turning out to be sterile. He has quite a different lineage than Wilder, but does still share some common relatives, such as the notorious Apollo (Sunfire's Undeniable). His pedigree boasts a nice blend of various types of titles, including show, hunting/field, obedience, agility, etc. Banner was born on July 7th, 2020, and is a very smart, sweet, and well-balanced pup. He's a big boy with the often sought-after big blocky head and he is extremely strong! We are pleased that he has the most impressive conformation of any dog we've ever owned. Everyone that sees him comments on what a great structure and what an overall good-looking fella he is. We may try to pursue therapy with him like we did with Wilder, though he probably has potential for a lot more.
He is clear for all recessive genetic diseases tested for on his Paw Print Genetics DNA panel and/or he is clear by parentage. We did perform preliminary OFA joint clearances on him at age 1 and his hips were graded as fair. Unfortunately, he later failed his hips for his finals, which we didn't get around to doing until he was almost 3. I didn't feel that he was going to pass a re-attempted submission, so we went ahead and retired him. A friend and previous puppy owner of ours now keeps him in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and he's living a very spoiled, happy life. He has two human kids, lives with one of our older Elsa pups, and gets to go on family adventures, as well as regular doggy daycare and grooming. I miss this big, strong, sweet bear but I'm happy to have him nearby and that he got such a great family.
