WILDER
Sunfire's Wilder than Wildfire / SS00980502
Wilder was meant to be our newest sire as Oakley approaches his senior years. Unfortunately, there's a possibility that this amazing little guy is sterile, which we discovered soon after attempting his first breedings in 2019. We are working to try to figure out his fertility issues, but regardless, this boy is just about everything we could have hoped for in a golden, with that one exception. We found his amazing breeder through Purina's breeder magazine and instantly fell in love with his sire. We were thrilled when it worked out that we were able to bring home Wilder, all the way from Connecticut. Wilder was born August 13, 2017, and has an amazing pedigree, which includes hunting, agility, tracking, conformation, obedience, and many other titles. The breeder we got him from has been working with goldens since the 1970's, and has really paid attention to performance, health, longevity, etc. Many of the dogs in his direct line have lived between 13 and 17 years old - very long lives for recent generations of American golden retrievers. We hoped Wilder would produce some outstanding, talented pups with longevity, as well as be a good starter dog for us to start working on titling our own dogs. With the training we have done with him, he certainly does show promise. While he was a relatively calm pup, he's now got lots of energy and is showing his extremely high retrieving drive. He's got a golden personality - always happy! And he's very smart and loves cuddles! Through his training, he has quickly picked up a lot of skills and loves to work! We believe he would be excellent in agility and in the field. We absolutely adore this sweet, smart, amazing fella!

Wilder passed his therapy dog evaluation through Pet Partners of Central Arkansas in March 2020! He passed with a complex rating, which is the highest score and means that he's clear to visit any type of facility for therapy work. He's such a good boy and has so much potential in so many different things! We're bummed he may never pass his amazing genetics on to future generations, but we're going to enjoy working and learning with him anyway! |
