This litter is highly anticipated because it brings the lines of our almost-14-year-old cornerstone dog, Oakley, back into our pedigrees. It is also Savvy's last planned litter before she retires and Rooster's first ever litter (that we are aware of) at age 8. Savvy is a super sweet, ball-crazy, show/hunting mixed pedigreed, beautiful girl. Rooster is a son of our own sweet Ember, who is from a hunting pedigree, and Oakley. Both of these dogs have never really shown any aggression at all to our knowledge and are very even-tempered. Rooster has had a successful career as a hunting retriever, and I'm very pleased that he also scored Excellent on his hip clearances. This is a hunting and show/other performance pedigree cross. Nova is a beautiful, athletic, quiet, sweet golden. She's a bit of a soft dog who does best with positive feedback. She loves a game of fetch, a romp in the field or pond, but also just loves to cuddle on the couch. Huck, the sire, is a large, strong, handsome hunting-lineage dog who is also just happy being a house dog, but does retrieve ducks and enjoys a hike or other adventures. We like to cross lineages for the sake of genetic diversity and it often improves both sides - structure for the working side of the pedigree, drive and working ability for the show side. We expect these to be some good-looking, well-rounded dogs with nice temperaments. We're excited to see how this cross turns out! Savvy is our highly driven cross of show and hunting lines out of Fluff and Ruger, who was an outside sire we used with hunting titles. She is very smart, sweet, and athletic. Huck is our co-owned stud from full hunting lines. He has a sweet temperament and enjoys being in the bed with the humans just as well as he enjoys retrieving. They have one previous litter together and the offspring are reported to be good hunters and wonderful companions.

Pending Cinder completing health clearances.
Currently exploring and deciding on a stud.
If she passes clearances, we don't anticipate breeding Cinder for the first time until early 2021.
If she follows her normal cycle, we guesstimate that she'll breed in January 2021, have her first litter in March or early April 2021, and pups would be ready to go around June 2021.

Gauge

Gauge x Fluff

We attempted to breed Fluff to Gauge in early 2020, but she didn't get pregnant so we hope to retry the same breeding on her next cycle. Gauge is a Topbrass hunting-line stud owned by Vinanches Golden Retrievers. With Fluff's beautiful show lines and Gauge's athleticism and working lines, we expect these to be well-balanced pups that are both beautiful and have working potential. Gauge is a lighter color like Fluff, so these pups will likely be light gold to blond in color.

This will be a first-time breeding between Willow and Oakley. Both parents have full health clearances and the coefficient of inbreeding for this litter is 0.00%, which means total genetic diversity! Oakley is the cornerstone of our breeding program and has produced many amazing pups, and Willow has a nice field/show mix pedigree with a lovely temperament and good drive. We expect this to be a beautiful, healthy litter of pups!
